This 3 day course will train attendees to be capable of handling technical emergencies when additional resources are not available, location requires light weight gear and a fast moving team or urgency dictates action must take place immediately. Self rescue, companion rescue, and small party rescue skills are the foundation that builds competent rescuers for all disciplines.

Many skills taught in this workshop come from a Single Rope Technique skills but are also applicable to use with  Dual Main/Twin Tension and Dedicated Main/Belay systems.

This is a physically and mentally demanding course that requires the participants to solve technical problems using skill, technique, calculated thinking, and the few pieces of gear that can be easily carried or attached to a harness.

Belay escape/takeover
Rescue from a tensioned line
Converting static rigging into a dynamic system
Single rope pick-offs
Traveling haul systems
Counterweight systems
Diminishing loop systems
Horizontal hauling systems
Mid-face/over the edge rigging
Human directionals
Medical/patient care considerations

Participants must be in good physical shape and have a good baseline knowledge of rope rescue as well as be proficient with SRT skills. If you primarily use the RAD system you also must be proficient with either the “Frog” or “Texas”  climbing systems. All participants will be required to pass a skills demonstration the first day of the course in order to participate. A list of required skills will be made available prior to registration. All participants must be prepared to operate in any possible winter/mountain weather.

Cost- $425.00 per student. Cost includes lodging and nightly meals. Course is limited to no more than 14 participants.

Deposit and cancellation policy- There is a $20.00 non refundable fee for all cancelations. No refunds after 1/1/2022.
